U.J.A. Drive in New York Raised $17,500, 000 Since February; 5% Increase

Monroe Goldwater, president of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, reported today that the 1958 UJA drive has raised $17,500,000 from residents of the New York area since it began February 1. This total represents an increase of five percent over the amount the same people gave in 1957. he pointed out.

Nelson A. Rockefeller today assumed active leadership of a month-long Person-to Person drive by thousands of volunteer workers for the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York. He presided over a breakfast meeting of 150 key leaders of the current UJA drive in New York as chairman of New York UJA’s Person-to-Person Month.
