Acting Secretary General U Thant has been holding a series of conferences here, the last two days, obviously discussing Israeli-Arab issues.
Today, for the second day in a row, he saw Michael S. Comay, head of the Israel delegation. Yesterday, after conferring with Mr. Comay, he talked with Farid Chehlaoui, chief of the Syrian delegation here. Mr. Thant also talked today with Mohamed H. El-Zayyat, chairman of the United Arab Republic delegation.
In each case, Mr. Thant was accompanied at the conferences by Dr. Ralph J. Bunche, Undersecretary for Special Political Affairs, considered the chief expert on Israel-Arab issues among Mr. Thant’s most intimate aides.
