PROTESTS AGAINST DEAL

The American Federation of Labor and other powerful organizations in the country are opposed to commercial dealings with the Hitler regime. It is understood Washington has received many protests against entering into a barter arrangement which would bring German products into the American market.

One of the most powerful of these was the letter of Samuel Untermyer to Secretary of State Hull protesting sharply against the trade negotiations with the Reich.
