U.S.-born Rabbi Barry Schlesinger took over as head of Israel’s Conservative movement this week. Schlesinger, 53, said he would have the Conservative movement — or Masorti, as it’s known in Israel — reach out to all Israelis. Schlesinger grew up Orthodox in Englewood, N.J., and moved to Israel in 1972.
