American circles today denied reports in several British newspapers that British Foreign Secretary R.A. Butler warned Secretary of State Dean Rusk of the danger that both Israel and the Arab countries might in the not too distant future acquire radioactive types of weapons. According to American sources, no such information was conveyed by Mr. Butler, nor was this specific subject discussed between him and Mr. Rusk.

(From London it was reported today that the British Foreign Office made a special effort today to play down reports from Washington that the Soviet Union has supplied Egypt with minor nuclear warheads. A spokesman said that the Egyptians might be getting more missiles from the Russians, but not nuclear warheads.)
