The Office of International Trade of the Department of Commerce today notified American manufacturers that they are invited to participate in the “Conquest of the Desert” international exhibition and fair, to be held in Jerusalem in April and May of 1953.
The Department said the principal objectives of the exhibition are to encourage trade development between the Middle East and Israel and other countries; assist in the expansion of agriculture and industry in the Middle East; and show the achievements of various countries in rehabilitating deserts and wastelands. Displays will feature pavilions set up by the governments of various nations, as well as commercial exhibits, with emphasis in the latter being placed on implements or materials used in development and reconstruction programs.
