U.S. Jewish groups are obligated to speak out against recent statements by Israeli settler leaders that threatened violence against Prime Minister Ehud Barak, according to Americans for Peace Now. “Unless mainstream groups speak up, an atmosphere of violence will prevail and provide unbalanced individuals with an excuse to act,” said Debra DeLee, the group’s president.
