U.S. Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) was chosen to lead a Jewish outreach effort for Democratic House candidates. Israel announced Wednesday that he will chair the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Jewish Outreach Council, to help communicate a Democratic message to Jewish voters and political donors. “Our party can take nothing for granted this election cycle,” Israel said in a statement. “Continuing the historic support the Democratic Party has received from the American Jewish community is critical to us taking back the House.”
