U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during a meeting Monday in Washington with Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi. “We always take the opportunity to meet with a wide range of Palestinian leaders, leaders of the Palestinian community, to discuss the efforts that we have under way to support reform in the Palestinian community and also to achieve the president’s vision of two states living side by side in peace,” State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said.
