U.S. senators sent a letter urging the European Union to recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Sens. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and Gordon Smith (D-Ore.) drafted the letter to Javier Solana, secretary-general of the Council of the European Union, which garnered 88 signatures.
