Unemployment in Poland is assuming alarming proportions due to the economic crisis in the country.
Prime Minister Count Skrzynski toured the towns of Lodz, Sosnowiec, Bialystok, Kielce and other industrial centers where he received deputations of employers and workers in an attempt to remedy the situation.
An official report issued by the Polish Ministry of Labor declares that the number of unemployed in the Republic is 274,403. During last week the number was increased by 12,552, of which 3,415 are workers in the textile industry in Lodz. Ninety-five percent of all the textile workers in Warsaw are unemployed.
