rich Bruening, leader of the former Catholic Centrist party, former Chancellor of Germany, and one of the most widely respected men in European diplomacy, is being mentioned for inclusion in the new cabinet. It remains a question, however, whether Dr. Bruening would consent to participate in a Hitler cabinet unless certain policies which appear to be implicit with a Hitler regime are eliminated.

STORM TROOPS ON WAY OUT

There seems little doubt among qualified observers and close students of the present German situation that the Nazi storm troops are slated to go. Under radical leadership, with many of their members unquestionably “red” in tendency, they represent a doubtful asset which may yet become a threat to the government. Their dismissal would ease Hitler’s position in foreign affairs and would lighten the financial burden on the German government. On the other hand, dismissal might result in a large part of the storm troopers joining the underground united front against Hitler which is now known to be functioning.

Despite this latter danger, and its realization by Hitler and his close personal advisers, it is believed here that the Nazi chancellor will take the chance and dissolve his private army.
