With 2, 000 persons filling the Astral Theatre here tonight to capacity, as six huge candles illumined the scene, the Jewish community of Buenos Aires paid solemn tribute to the memories of the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto rebellion and the rest of Europe’s 6, 000, 000 Jews mass-murdered during the Nazi regime. The meeting has been arranged by DAIA, central representative body of Argentine Jewry, and the Buenos Aires Jewish Community. Among the principal participants and speakers were Dr. Isaac Goldenberg, president of DAIA; Israel Ambassador Yosef Avidar; Chief Rabbi Jacob Fink; and Mark Turkow, representative of the World Jewish Congress.
