Estelle Sternberger, radio commentator, was honored for her achievements as an outstanding American citizen and for her contributions to Jewish life by the Women’s Institute of Jewish Studies of The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, at its opening assembly yesterday. Mrs. Sternberger, chosen by President Roosevelt as a co-chairman of his Good Neighbor League, was the first recipient of the Albert Einstein Award for furthering international understanding.

Dr. Judd L. Teller, director of information of the Jewish Agency, delivered the main address on “Jerusalem: Center of a World Controversy.” Dr. Teller analyzed the current international importance of Jerusalem, a subject of particular significance in the light of the current celebration of the 3,000th anniversary of Jerusalem.
