Work will begin in September to restore ancient Jewish catacombs in Rome so that tourists can visit. Italy’s culture minister said this week that the ministry had allocated $1.75 million toward restoring the Jewish catacombs located beneath Villa Torlonia, just outside Rome’s city center.
