Yasser Arafat asked Arab and Muslim countries to support the Palestinians’ uprising against Israel during Ramadan. He made the comments Monday, one day after telling the U.N. General Assembly he would make “every possible effort” to make peace. During his speech to U.N. delegates Sunday, Arafat repeatedly blamed Israel for the continuing Israeli-Palestinian violence.
