Issues affecting the relationship between the American Zionist movement and the state of Israel will be widely discussed at the 51st annual convention of the Zionist Organization of America which opens here on Friday. More than 2,000 delegates from all parts of the United States will attend the session, which are scheduled to last four days.

The future program of the Z.0.A. will be presented for consideration of the convention by Dr. Emanuel Neumann, in his presidential address. James G. McDonald, U.S. representative to Israel, will be one of the principal speakers. Other speakers will include Aubrey Eban, Israeli representative at the United Nations; Henry Morgenthau, Jr., national chairman of the United Jewish Appeal; Major General John H. Hill-dring, Bartley Crum and Senator Claude Pepper.

Dr. Abba Eillel Silver, chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency and chairman of the American Zionist Emergency Committee, will review the political situation at the Sunday afternoon session. This session will be highlighted by a full discussion following the presentation, of resolutions.

Dr. Israel Goldstein, chairman of the World Confederation of General Zionists, will be the principal speaker at the Monday morning session, devoted to a discussion of General Zionist problems. Judge Morris Rothenberg, president of the Jewish National Fund, will be the principal speaker at a Sunday noon meeting. Election of officers is scheduled to be held at the Sunday afternoon session.

The convention will close formally Monday evening with a “Salute to Israel” banquet which will take the form of a tribute to Dr. Abba Hillel Silver.
