Zionist Leaders Summoned for Urgent Conference in New York on Monday

More than 100 Zionist leaders from all parts of the country have been summoned to come to New York to attend an urgent conference which will be held on Monday, July 13, at the Hotel Astor, it was announced here today.

The conference was called in connection with the serious war situation in the Middle East. It will take place several hours before the general meeting of New York members of all Zionist groups called for the same evening at the same hotel. It is expected that Dr. Chaim Weizmann will address this meeting. The principal speakers will include Judge Louis E. Levinthal, Dr. Nahum Goldman and Emanuel Neumann. Both the conference of the Zionist leaders and the general meeting have been convoked by the American Emergency Committee for Zionist Affairs to hear reports on political activities in Washington concerning the Zionist cause and the post-war status of Palestine.

The Emergency Committee for Zionist Affairs today reported that a sum of $40,000 has been put at the disposal of the Zionist Executive in Palestine by Hadassah in connection with the Jewish war effort there.
