The demonstrations in Ashkelon and elsewhere, carrying the theme “No to violence, yes to dialogue,” follow rallies in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that turned violent.
The men were indicted on charges including assaulting police officers, resisting arrest and rioting for their actions in a protest against police brutality.
