Romania pledges to resolve restitution issues on Jewish property

Only 300 of 1,980 claims have been resolved since 1997, when Romania initiated restitution of property owned by Jewish institutions.

A Holocaust education center will open in the childhood home in Romania of Nobel Prize-winning author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

European Jewish Congress President Dr. Moshe Kantor was awarded Romania’s highest civilian honor.
