Copies of the “Izviestia” which have just reached here from Russia confirm the tragic accident which took place at a Kiev synagogue in which sixty were killed and more than a hundred seriously wounded.
According to the Moscow paper. the synagogue was crowded with 2,000 worshippers for the Joyful festival “Symchas Torah” when a false cry of “fire” was raised which brought on the panic and the consequent catastrophe.
