The virtual boycott by Jews of the polls during the election last Sunday notwithstanding four Jewish candidates were elected to the Greek Assembly. The boycott was almost 100% effective, most of the Jews refraining from voting in protest against the establishment of the separate election sector. Only 92 Jewish votes were recorded. The four deputies originally nominated and declared elected are Isaak Alhanati, Jonas Jamnelides, Josua Laias, and M. Levy.

The officers of the Kehillah who had agreed to the segregation of the Jewish votes had been obliged to resign.
