Emanvel Reicher, famous German artist and theatrical director, died here today at the age of seventy-five, from heart failure. Mr. Reicher, who started his theatrical career in the Yiddish theatres of Galicia and Hungary, grew to considerable fame through his work there. In later years, on the German stage, he was one of the first to introduce Jewish stage types for other than comedy purposes. He won much praise in artistic German of roles for his work in this respect. He recently returned to Germany from America where he had spent several years in directing Schnitzer’s Jewish Art Theatre, and the New York Theatre Guild. He left a son, Franls. Reicher, who is a well-known actor and director in America.
