In spite of the fact that the Senate Immigration Committee has accepted the Sub-Committee’s bill calling for a 2% quota on the 1910 census, Senator Harris of Georgia introduced today an amendment providing for a 1% quota on the basis of the 1890 census. Another amendment calling for a 2% quota on the 1890 census basis was introduced by Senator Harrison of Mississippi, Democrat.

In addition to his amendment, Senator Harris has secured permission to print in the Congressional Record the complete attacks against immigration made by Samuel Gompers and Commander Quinn of the American Legion.
