Loans made by the Reconstruction Department of the Joint Distribution Committee in Poland to small farmers and tradepeople to enable them to rebuild their homes have been repaid with interest. This is the first time that reimbursement has been made to the J.D.C. for money loaned by it.
An interesting fact in connection with this repayment is that the payments were all made by people from small villages. No payment has been received from any of the debtors in the large cities.
