Prof. Masaryk, the President of the Czecho-Slovakian Republic, who has been making an official tour though the province of Moravia, has been received everywhere by deputations of the Jewish population. At Troppau, M. Fin##i, the President of the local Jewish communal organization, welcomed the President.
President Masaryk, in his reply, said: “You know well how I and my Government have stood in our attitude towards the Jews, and you may be sure that for the future, also, I shall remain true to my principles. I hold that there should be the most absolute equality of rights for all peoples and religious communities.”
In Maerisch-Ostrau, Dr. Rufeisen, the President of the Zionist Executive in Czecho-Slovakia, presented the President with an address.
