The latest styles in women’s dresses were thoroughly discussed by a general meeting of the Rabbinate here, and was the question which occupied the entire time of the meeting.
The ban against immodest clothes, issued by a number of Galician Rabbis, as previously reported, was the incentive for some Rabbis here to urge similar action in Congress Poland. A number of Rabbis, however, opposed a public denunciation.
The Rabbinate finally decided the follow the line of action taker by the Galician Rabbis and to issue a call to the Jewish women to refrain from appearing in the latest styles which cause an immodest exposure of their bodies.
