The ban on the Bible in the public schools of California was lifted today by a decision of the Supreme Court in a test case protesting against the placing of the Scriptures ii school libraries. The Court declared that there is no constitutional objection to placing in school libraries the Protestant and Catholic Bibles, versions of the Jewish Talmud, the Koran, or the teachings of Confucius, inasmuch as they are not sectarian books but classics in literature.
