Rabbi Mordecai Baischanski, expelled from Russia after he had served seven months in prison for protesting against the edict which forbade the teaching of Hebrew in the schools there, arrived this Sunday on the S.S. America. Rabbi Barischanski described as tragic the condition of Jewish learning in Russia and made the statement that the Jewish communists themselves will destroy the soul of Jewishness.
