Monteith an organizer of the Km Klux Klan who was arrested at Harmilton on a charge of trying to make money by securing members for the “Inrisible Empire”, declared to officers of the Attorney General’s Department that there is nothing illegal in the Klan ritual or oath. He also stated that he was not a paid worker of the Klan.
