“Dear Mr. Ezra-Your very kind letter of November 12, regarding the death of Senator Lodge has been received. The tribute to his memory published in the China Press, has also been real with great interest and sincere appreciation. I will be a pleasure to transmit a copy of your letter to the State Department and to the family of Senator Lodge who, I feel sure, will be deeply touched at this mark of esteem in which he held.
