Altman Foundation Gives $50,000 to Catholic Cathedral and $10,000 to Jewish Seminary

Fifty thousand dollars was donated by the Altman Foundation to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for the fund that is to be devoted to the completion of the new Cathedral, according to the announcement of Colonel Michael Friedsam, in accordance with the usual custom at the holiday season. The following special contributions have been made in addition to those during the year:

Twenty-five thousand dollars to the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York.

Ten thousand dollars to the Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor.

Ten thousand dollars to the United Hospitals Fund.

Ten thousand dollars to the Jewish Theological Seminary for the Library Fund of that institution, and as a memorial scholarship in honor of Benjamin Altman.

Besides the present distribution, the Foundation recently made a special contribution of $25,000 to the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies.
