A statement issued by the Spanish Ambassador denied press reports that the Spanish government would not accept Jews as citizens unless they are converted to Catholicism.

Prima de Rivera, the Prime Minister, has facilitated the regaining of Spanish citizenship by Jews of Spanish descent, the statement declared. The opportunity for descendants of Spanish Jews to acquire citizenship is open until 1930, he declared.
