Orthodox leaders here were perturbed by the announcement that Rabbi Ginsburg B. Levi. of Isaiah Temple, conducts classes weekly in the New Testament.
Prominent among those who seemed bitter against the new departure in Reform circles. was Samuel Ginsburg. president of the Union of Orthodox Congregations.
“What seems to be the matter with these Reform congregations.” he is quoted as saying. “Has Dr. Levi no other work but to dabble in the New Testament.
