Dr. Constantin Fehrenbach, exchancellor of Germany, leader of the Centrum, who died here yesterday, was an active figure in the movement to combat anti-Semitism and racial prejudice in Germany.
Dr. Fehrenbach was vice-president of the Association to Combat Anti-Semitism and originated the slogan “Anti-Semitism is a danger to the German People.”
Jewish life in Oriental countries from the earliest times to the present day will be illustrated in an exhibition of valuable literary material to be opened at the New York Public Library today.
The collections, consisting of ancient manuscripts, rare books and pamphlets, first editions and autographs, have been assembled by library officials in cooperation with Hebrew Union College of Cincinnati, the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York and Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning, Philadelphia. The possessions of these institutions will be supplemented by a number of works of modern commentaries in English, French and German.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
