Twenty-two passengers were drowned when a steamer going from Odessa to Jaffa was wrecked, according to reports received here.
A radio report from steamers which came to the rescue of the ship said that the majority of the passengers were saved. The name of the boat is not given and no further details are known, except that the steamer flew the Russian flag.
