Charles Pasman, manager of the Zion Commonwealth, was honored at a banquet last night before his departure for America. Mr. Pasman is proceeding to America for the purpose of arranging for the extension of the activities of the Zion Commonwealth.
Dr. Thon, Col. Frederick H. Kisch, political representative of the Zionist Executive. Mr. Sacher, in the name of the Mortgage Bank. Mr. Ettinger of the National Fund and many others praised Mr. Pasman’s work and devotion to Palestine. His name was inscribed in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund.
MOSLEM CONGRESS REJECTS PROPOSAL TO ELECT CALIPH
A Cairo despatch to the Exchange Telegraph in London says the Central Committee of the Caliphate Congress, now in session there, does not consider the present time propitious for re-establishment of the Caliphate, which was abolished by the Turkish Nationalists, an Associated Press despatch from London states.
The committee recommends the formation of a general Moslem Council to decide all Islamic questions.
Ralph Jonas was re-elected President and all other officers were reelected at the annual meeting of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
