What might be the fate of the Jewish population in Roumania if the anti-Semitic Cuza party gains power through the present elections was revealed in a campaign speech by Zelea Codreanu, which he delivered at an open air meeting in Kumlung, according to despatches received here from Bucharest.
Codreanu outlined the program of the party with regard to the Jewish population. According to the Cuza program, the Roumanian government should confiscate (1) all land in possession of Jews: (2) all forests and bridges on Jewish property; (3) Inns and taverns owned by Jews; (4) houses owned by Jews; (5) to proclaim a prohibition for 100 years against any Jew stepping on Roumanian soil; (6) the Jewish population of Roumania be ordered to leave the country within 45 days, emigrating “not to Palestine but to Uganda to become the prey of the cannibals there.”
