Delegates from every part of the United States are attending the National Farm School Conference which opened yesterday at the Biltmore Hotel, New York, and which will continue until June 7. The meeting is attended by representative agricultural and educational leaders.
R. W. Dunlap, Assistant Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture, opened the conference. Senator Arthur Capper, of Kansas, is chairman. The delegates include special appointees by thirty-five Governors and fifty Mayors of the largest cities in the country.
Mayor Walker received the delegates at City Hall.
Scientific education for training expert farmers will be considered by the Conference.
The conference will devote a day to women’s activities and the deans of women of colleges and universities where agricultural and home economics courses are given, will discuss plans relating to women’s welfare in agricultural communities.
The annual convention of District Grand Lodge No. 4 of the B’nai B’rith will be held in Seattle. Wash., beginning Sunday. June 27. District Grand Lodge No. 4 embraces California, Oregon. Washington, British Columbia, Urab, Montana, Nevada and Arizona.
Property facing a full block was acquired as the site for a building that will be erected by the Jewish Young Men’s Association of Rochester, N. Y.
It is expected that a drive for $### will be launched to erect the building.
