The provisional Bartel government formally presented its resignation to the newly elected President Ignatz Moscicki today. It is probable that Professor Bartel will again be appointed Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The deputies who are members of the Polish Socialist Party were not present at the royal castle where the newly elected president was sworn in yesterday. It was stated that the absence of the Socialist deputies was an expression of their protest against the fact that the oath of the new president was administered outside of the parliament building.
Representatives of the Polish, the Polish Jewish and foreign press were present at a press dinner given by the President last night. The correspondence of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Mr. M. Mozes, in his speech congratulated the new president on behalf of the Jewish press abroad and expressed the hope that the Jewish Telegraphic Agency would be in a position to report to the Jewish press abroad happy events concerning the welfare and happiness of all the citizens of the Polish Republic, including the Jews. The president thanked the correspondent for his good wishes.
