Several prominent Jews are taking an active interest in the drive started here to raise sufficient funds to preserve the House of Prayer, a Protestant Church, one of the city’s oldest landmarks. Louis V. Aronson, prominent Jewish manufacturer, is chairman of the general citizens’ committee, and Harry L. Tepper, local attorney, treasurer.
Mr. Aronson contributed $1,000 toward the campaign. Rabbi Solomon Foster and Rabbi Julius Silberfeld appealed to the Jewish residents of the city to support the drive, declaring the movement to preserve the landmark to be a patriotic and non-sectarian one.
