(Jewish Daily Bulletin)

The cemetery of the Beth Israel congregation on the Military road, near this city is being guarded by Sheriff Alexanden Campbell and his aides. The guard is being maintained to protect the grave-yard from incursions of a gang of men who during the last three weeks have made numerous visits to the place, repeatedly breaking locks on the store house door and ransacking the place. It was feared the gang might, if unchecked, commit other depredations, injuring the graves on tombstones. The gang is armed, as evidenced by the fact that on several of their visits they fired bullets at the storehouse locks until they broke.
