Jews Are Best Pupils, Figures in Toronto School Survey Show

“In intelligence the Jewish boys surpass the non-Jewish boys, while the non-Jewish girls surpass the Jewish girls,” according to Inspector P.E. Munro of Toronto public school inspectoral staff, who was awarded the Ph. D. degree at the university on his thesis “An Experimental Investigation of the Mentality of the Jew in Ryerson Public School.”

Inspector Munro was for some years a principal at Ryerson and had opportunities to study the Jewish pupils. In making the tests, 505 Jewish children and 130 non-Jewish were studied. “Taken as racial groups. The Jews are slightly superior,” he declared. in his thesis.

“In spelling ability the Jews are superior to the non-Jews in all age groups, and in all grades except the seventh. Both Jews and non-Jews are, on the whole, below the Ontario standard, but above the United States standard.”
