Flinders Petrie, Famous Egyptologist, Transfers Activities to Palestine

Sir Flinders Petrie. the famous Egyptologist, has decided to abandon research work in Egypt and transfer his archaeological activities to Southern Palestine because of the attitude of the Egyptian Department of Antiquities under Director Lacau, a Frenchman, it was learned here.

Sir Flinders is quoted by the “Daily Express,” in an interview detailing hindrances imposed upon research workers, as saying the skilled American excavators at Thebes have abandoned their work and are compelled to spend their time studying discoveries they made two years ago.
