Former Lithuanian Govt. Attempted to Split Jewish Community, Premier Says

The former reactionary Lithuanian government attempted to split the Jewish community for political purposes, it was declared by the present Lithuanian Prime Minister Slezewicz, despatches received from Kovno state.

The Premier made this statement in reply to an interpellation introduced into the Sejm. He declared that the former government spent millions of state funds for its reactionary party purposes and allotted a fund to support the Kovno Yiddish paper, “Die Zeit,” the organ of the Jewish landlords, for the purpose of sowing dissention among the Jewish population. Former Prime Minister Bistros will be called to account in court for this action Sleze###.
