International Ort Conference Sessions Concluded in Berlin

The third international conference of the Ort. Society for the Purpose of Promoting Trade and Agriculture among Jews, was concluded here yesterday with the election of a new central council.

Leon Bloom, Jewish Socialist leader of Paris, Kurt Blumenfeld, president of the Zionist Organization of Germany. Dr. Leo Bramson, one of the founders of the Ort. were elected to the praesidium of the central council. Other members elected to the council are Brodnitz, Senator Koerner of Warsaw. Lvovitch, Prof. Frankfurt, Dr. Silberfarb, Singalowsky, Max Soloweitschik and Zegelnitcki.

Among the resolutions adopted by the conference was one expressing appreciation for the work of the central administration of the Society and recommending extension of the work in the same direction. Another resolution expressed recognition of the importance of the Jewish colonization work in Russia and the wish that the Ort concentrate its settlement activity in the neighborhood of the small towns in the district of Odessa in White Russia.

The Conference also urged the Executive to increase the activity of the Society in promoting the handicraft industry and technical training among the Jewish youth.

A special resolution expressed appreciation of the cooperation of the Ort organization in Poland. The cooperation of the American delegation, headed by Dr. Henry Moskowitz and Judge Jacob Panken, was greatly praised by the conference.

The Berlin press reported extensively the addresses of the American delegates.
