Schraeder’s Confession is Substantiated at the Scene of Murder

(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The framed charges against Rudolph Haas, Magdeburg merchant, completely collapsed yesterday when Schraeder, who confessed to having murdered Helling, Haas’s book-keeper, reenacted the murder in his home.

On the scene, Schraeder repeated his confession which he had withdrawn. He declared that he had never seen Haas before.

The room was arranged exactly as on the night when the murder was committed.

Large crowds from the village, who assembled near Schraeder’s house when it became known that he was there, attempted to lynch him. He was rescued by the police with great difficulty.
