Union Asks Schools to Cooperate in Jewish Holy Day Observance

Presidents ### universities and superintendents of public schools in all large cities have been asked by the Department of Synagogue and School Extension of the Union to facilitate the observance by Jewish students of the High Holidays.

The Union sent to 491 superintendents of schools and 93 university presidents a Jewish Holiday calendar for be coming academic year. In a letter accompanying the calendar, Dr. George ###pin, secretary of the Union said: “We beg to suggest that your schedule be so arranged, if possible, so that Jewish children will be permitted to absent themselves from school for the purpose of observing the Holy Days properly.”
