Fire Destroys Jewish Homes in Polish Town

Several score of Jewish families remained homeless as a result of a fire which broke out last night in the township Gavartchev, district of Konskie.

A large part of the town was destroyed by the fire. The population of the town is mainly Jewish.

Of a list of 78 successful candidates for the Maryland bar recently announced by the secretary of the State Board of Law Examiners, nearly one-half of the young attorneys passing the examination are Jews.

Among those who passed the tests, three were women, two of these, Miss Annette Selenko and Miss Ida Iris Kloze, being Jews.
