A surplus of the revenues over the expenditures of the Palestine government is shown during the last six months, notwithstanding the partial unemployment prevailing in the country, according to figures made known today.
The figures show that during the six months from April to September, 1926, the government revenues amounted to £1,038,856, while the expenditures amounted to £947,629.
The belief of the Palestine government in the successful overcoming of the unemployment was demonstrated by its action in granting to the Zionist Executive 1,500 certificates for the admission of Jewish labor immigrants, including 500 women.
Figures on the Palestine immigration and emigration for the month of October were also made public today. According to these figures 641 immigrants entered the country during the month of whom 598 were Jews. One thousand three hundred and two emigrants left the country, of whom 1,061 were Jews.
